(Before It's News)

A new report by the Daily Mail reveals Facebook users are abandoning the social media giant at an unprecedented rate over privacy concerns.

New research shows Facebook has lost a total of eleven million users, nine million in the US and two million in Britain. Researchers at the University of Vienna analyzed 600 users and found they quit for the following reasons:

Privacy concerns – 48.3 percent
General dissatisfaction – 13.5 percent
Shallow conversations – 12.6 percent
Fear of becoming addicted – 6 percent

i would abandon it myself if not for the connections ive been able to make and only have on Facebook.  Therefore sadly, I stay.  If not for facebook, I would not have been able to reconnect with my now wife after 12 years of being disconnected.  (We met in 2001, grew apart, didnt speak for 12 years, reconnected, clicked, married)  Crazy right?   She lived in a different state than me too.  Don’t be suprised if this trend continues.  Online users have seen many FB type sites come and go.  facebook is just a fad, I think, and it too will one day crash and die like Myspace did.  -Mort
