Comply With Everything I say, or I’ll Break Your Window!

(Before It's News)

After seeing this new video of an officer first ordering a young lady to completely roll down her window, then escalating the situation without cause, I started to wonder about the lack of training the current police officers in the United States receive. There was a time when officers were “peace officers,” and the last thing they would want to do is escalate a situation, especially one as banal as a traffic infraction. As a law abiding citizen, I find myself aligning more and more with supposed criminals rather than the police officer. I also witness on a regular basis how police officers are usually the first to throw out the ubiquitous F-bomb, rather than showing respect for citizens and deescalating. The current police officer needs to be retrained that he/she IS a public servant, and a citizen who is standing their ground on either a constitutional or legal personal basis does not need to be treated as a common criminal. I suppose, however, we are all common criminals now.
