You may have heard of Feng shui, but might not be exactly sure what it means, if it works, or how to start applying it to your home. Feng shui is the ancient Chinese practice that is based on the belief that your human experiences are linked to your immediate surroundings. That is, the items, style and colors that you fill your home with have a direct affect on the success and prosperity that you and any one that spends time in your home experiences in life. There are a few different versions of Feng shui, the most common being one that relies on compass directions. There is another type of Feng shui, however, that doesn't depend on compass directions but instead provides a 9-square layout that you can easily apply to your home design, by aligning the bottom squares with the front of your house.
This other version of Feng shui, referred to as the Western style, provides a template that may prove easier to implement than traditional Feng shui.
