On December 7th, we pay homage to Americans wounded or killed during the attack on Pearl Harbor.  But we’d also be wise to revisit history.  Paltry few Americans actually know the truth about Pearl Harbor.  The Japanese didn’t attack willy-nilly, out of some expression of their militant society.  They were in fact push by a series of economic warfare steps taken by the United States specifically designed to provoke a Japanese response.

With the passage of time, a great many official documents, interviews and other material has painstakingly been assembled by a number of researchers.  As with the Kennedy Assassination and many other historically significant events, there are interests best served by continued American ignorance of our true history.

On this day, as we remember Pearl Harbor, spend some time reviewing the actual history.  For a brief introduction, I highly recommend two articles by Robert Higgs;  click here and here.  The 17 minute video below is instructive as well.
