Though AA has saved millions of lives, its founder knew that recovered alcoholics still suffered from severe depression, possibly from nutritional deficiencies in the brain. Abram Hoffer, founder of ortho-molecular medicine, turned Bill Wilson onto the benefits of high dose Niacin for depression, which alleviated his own lifelong depression, and caused him to become extremely passionate about Niacin.
