4 Unique Statements In New Video Setting Folks Crazy. ‘Go Home Or Face Arrest!’
News of a small church in North Carolina doing all they can to make life better for everyone around them has been posted via a video Saturday, but four things they say are making some people wild, as a key minister in the UK resigned.
Each week, these church members, many struggling to get by themselves, come out to cook a hot meal and distribute groceries for the week to local families in need. ["Gosh, when was the last time I did that?" one might ask.]
In the process, they’ve created a beautiful community based on good old family values that Americans once heralded. Still sounds OK?
Here some of these people are, shown in this video released Saturday.

Here are four things they say in their video:
- “We came here, not just to lift ourselves up economically, but also enrich the community.”
- “It’s like a family reunion going on…”
- “It doesn’t matter what country we’re from or what language we speak.”
- “I feel good when people leave happy.”
That’s what they say, despite the fact that they are all Spanish-speaking immigrants.
Hypocrisy In High and Low Places
“A simply beautiful video that challenges what the usual staunch opponents of immigration reform want you to believe about immigrants,” Political Carnival said Saturday. “Bummer for all those conservatives who refer to immigrants as ‘illegals’ and who oppose a pathway to citizenship.
“Why? Because if this is what they oppose, they’re even bigger hypocrites and more tone deaf than we thought.”
Migration Minister of Parliament Mark Harper, who launched a notorious “go home or face arrest” campaign, resigned this week after it became known his cleaner didn’t have official permission to be working in the UK.
Controversy erupted last year regarding an advertising campaign Harper spearheaded. Vans were deployed in six London boroughs bearing billboards instructing illegal immigrants:
“Go home or face arrest.”
“The drive provoked an enormous backlash, and a UK advertising watchdog eventually banned it on the grounds that it was “misleading” – despite the majority of complainants denouncing it as racist or offensive,” reports Russia Today.
The minister claimed he should have checked his house staff’s documents more thoroughly. He’d taken the cleaner on in 2007.
“Although I complied with the law at all times, I consider that as Immigration Minister, who is taking legislation through Parliament which will toughen up our immigration laws, I should hold myself to a higher standard than expected of others,” Harper wrote.
The more the United States and its allies, such as the UK, invade, conduct illegal wars of aggression, including the “drug war” in which drugs are traded for guns, and occupy poor nations with resources the U.S. demands to take over, the more immigrants there will be, fleeing their once stable and safe homes.
Racism is rampant against immigrants, but that does not stop most of them, good-hearted folks seen in many communities across the country lending a hand to others. Puts some US born citizens to the task.
Illegal immigration is not about race, dammit!!!
It’s about the law, confiscational method of resource allocation, and the parasitic politicians who use both citizens and immigrants for their personal enrichment. These illegal immigrants are political dupes!
At one time, the Mexican/US border was essentially unprotected with little consequence. Until Bush, so was the Canadian/US border, again, crossing was a ho-hum experience.
If Adolf Hitler, Joseph Stalin, Bobby Mugabe, or even Obama came to my door and needed shelter and food, I’d accommodate them (any fuss and they’d get a wooden spoon to the forehead). It’s naturally human – Mexicans are human and no exception.
Any hatred should be directed at the individuals that command your compliance, the politicians!!
THINK ABOUT IT!
Thanks, Barebones. Racism comes in many forms. Think about it? Let’s do. How many white nations is the US targeting today? What’s the percentage of whites compared to people of color in US prisons today? How many whites are in Guantanamo or the 20 some other secret torture prisons the US is running around the world? Do you really think that if Mexicans were white-skinned – they’d be treated as they are today?
“Illegal immigrants”? The two have become one in too many people’s heads. Did you know there’s a big difference between “illegal” and “undocumented”? If Mexican, however, the average American would automatically think, if not say somewhere, “illegal immigrant.”
I keep waiting for Mexicans to unite in a national stay-at-home day or two or week… US would be crippled. Americans hadn’t been and would not take their place in jobs they do.
US border patrol is a joke when officials look the other way to allow US weapons traded right there for Mexican drugs. It’s been going on for decades and became worse during the Bush and Obama administrations. Blow the whistle on it lands patrol agents in jail – or worse.
Hitler, Stalin and Obama… have not been refugees – but it’s good to sse you’d offer Mexicans in need safe haven.
Since the US has supplied Mexican drug cartels with troves of weapons, millions more Mexicans have fled as refugees for survival. I totally agree that it’s imperative to look at the bigger picture before condemning those trying to protect their and their families’ lives.
Which country is hell-bent on taking over the world – regardless of human or environmental destruction? Not Mexico, my friend. Which nation’s people are supporting Full Spectrum Dominance at all cost, human and military? Not Mexicans.
I do think about it, my friend – and must say, your yelling ['THINK ABOUT IT!'] does not help anyone or any cause. I do, however, appreciate your reading this and commenting.
Dupre and barebones both make excellent points. I’d just like to add that almost all floods of immigrants in history have been due to their home countries becoming unlivable for them. Usually it’s been due to geopolitical actions like invasions and genocide, on a few occasions due to things like the potato famine in Eire.
In current times, the mass emigrations of Mexicans have been due to NAFTA, Muslims due to US destruction of their countries and overpopulation, Indians due to overpopulation, and many Africans and Filipinos due to overpopulation and climate change.
We Americans should admit blame for all of these, due to neoliberal economic policies, suppression of fertility control programs in other countries, and poor land use and fossil fuel consumption – all of which we were warned against by scientists and all of which were promoted by the military-industrial complex and the politicians they own.
