Paid fossil fuel trolls and their misguided renewable energy naysayers might be stumped with today’s news that clean green renewable energy did better in the new year than human and Earth rights advocates could have hoped.
Renewable sources provided nearly 100 percent of new power generation installed in the U.S. in January, according to new data from the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC).

Of the 325 megawatts (MW) of added generation in Jan., only 1 MW was qualified as something other than a renewable energy source. In fact, it was listed under the ‘other’ category, according to Eco Watch.
Solar energy crushed all competitors with 287 MW installed last month. Geothermal steam projects accounted for 30 MW, while wind came in third at 4 MW.

Solar energy far outpaced its counterparts in January. It will take many similar months, however, for clean energy to chip away at the dominating gas and coal.
Those two sources combine for nearly three-quarters of the nation’s total energy capacity.
However, as Think Progress highlights, renewables have experienced wildly successful months before.
In November 2013, 100 percent of the 394 MW of new capacity added came from renewable sources. The month before that, 99 percent of the 699 MW added were renewable.
Nevertheless, with increasing fraccidents and other oil and gas disasters on the rise and expected to continue escalating due to riskier extractions, power of the people demanding change is creating an energy revolution.

Gee, according to the trolls renewable energy is a non-starter. Could it be they’re wrong? That doesn’t matter, they’ll be back.
Keep up the good reporting.
This puts a whole new spin on the phrase ‘blow me!”
Yeah – good. But what about FREE ENERGY?
Tesla stated we (you and I) are not ready for this POWER.
Are we ready to stop the money for energy NONSENSE?
Those NOT ready lack credibility. Comprehension (and UNDERstanding) of this FACT increases exponentially (Phi Mod9 provides the elegant and robust (perfect) proof).
Regardless, at least decrease the resistance (Silent Weapons for Quiet Wars = increase FREE money flow to all) while we ride the transition…
Using money (especially in ignorance) dishonours.
You are MORE than money…
and if you think money = authority then you are on your (personally scripted) void list.
If we only new about renewable sources say 100 years ago and not gone into nuclear we would be ok right now…oh we did know about it? And still went nuclear huh?
Yup. I have 7.5KW of new solar panels on my roof as of two weeks ago. They will provide about 60% of our home’s energy needs.
Congratulations, Warren. Please tell us more. How’s it going with those solar panels in these first few weeks?
