(Before It's News)
I have been dealing with pneumonia for the last two weeks. I must say it got a tad scary a few times. However I am happy to report I am doing better. At least health wise.
During my illness I did a bit of research and discovered the goldenseal may be growing in the holler. I hope that is true, as goldenseal is a cure all, or so they claim. But looking for it will have to wait until spring, when I can dig up my suspected goldenseal and see the color of the root.
We have been dealing with snow off and on for awhile now. Just as soon as things seem to be warming up, bam! Welcome to swing season in Kentucky! Ah well, about the same in Kansas.
The cave froze. Sorry about the photo, took it with my phone. Boys insisted that I see it, too cool mom! Haha! Very cool.
The cows have a longing for wide open spaces, escaped three days in a row.
We spent two days repairing and securing the fencing. Now Urth paces madly at the gate, taking her frustration out on any another cow that dares approach. But it was nice to be able to work. Husband and I had bloody hands by the end of it. Worked through rain, then rain mixed with huge snowflakes, then slush falling from the sky. Our noses burned from the cold, our finger tips, although gloved, numbed. It was great.
