Google’s Gmail Web-based email service went down today, Friday, March 14, also affecting other services including Google Plus, which now powers YouTube’s comments section. Google (NASDAQ:GOOG) commented at 2:12 p.m. EST regarding the outage:
We’re investigating reports of an issue with Gmail. We will provide more information shortly.
Google reported the outage on its Apps Status Dashboard, as users around the world began complaining about the error: Temporary Error (500). All access to Gmail is locked, preventing Web-based users from accessing their email.
