Of all the words for our Fearless Leader to misspell, it seems rather telling that “respect” was the one that he flubbed.
To make matters worse, he spelled it wrong when introducing Aretha Franklin, the “Queen of Soul”, who sings a song called…R-E-S-P-E-C-T. You know, that song where she spells the word over and over? Your probably humming it in your head right now. It’s too bad Obama didn’t hum it.
Of course, given Obama’s lack of respect for the American people, it really should be no surprise that the word is as foreign to him as the concept.
The real story isn’t really so much that the teleprompter-loving President misspelled a word. The real story is that the ravening wolves in the media didn’t jump on it and mock him on television, in print and all across the world wide web. Do you remember poor Dan Quayle, whose Vice Presidency was riddled with enthusiastically publicized embarrassing moments? What about when President George H. W. Bush threw up on the prime minister of Japan? Remember when Jimmy Carter was mocked for claiming to have seen a UFO? The point is, all of these men were derided relentlessly, but Obama makes a flub like this and it’s never even mentioned.
