Obama Fiddles While Ukraine Burns
While people across the country are scared to take a day off sick in case they lose their jobs both our president and vice president are away from their desks on vacation…again.
No matter that Crimea has essentially been invaded by a nuclear superpower, the prez needs to spend some family time with ‘Chelle and the kids down in Key Largo, staying in a property that includes the now obligatory golf courses.
Biden is in the Virgin Islands topping up his tan, while the people of the Ukraine wonder if they will wake up in the morning to the sound of Russian jackboots kicking in their doors.
Josh Earnest, White House spokesman said:
“The president over the course of a very busy week has maintained his schedule and his ability to monitor ongoing events in Ukraine. I would anticipate that he’ll do the same thing this weekend, and the fact of the matter is what the president is doing this weekend in Florida is essentially what the president will be doing if he stayed back at the White House. It’s just that the weather will be a little warmer.”(source)
He made no indication if ‘doing what he would be doing’ had he stayed in Washington, refers to running the country and monitoring what could be the start of World War Three…or playing golf.
