Freedom Outpost
After speaking out in opposition of Russia’s invasion of Crimea, RT’s Abby Martin spoke with CNN’s Piers Morgan about corporate media and its kowtowing to advertisers.
Morgan starts the interview by asking Martin about coworker Liz Wahl work resigned on air in protest of what the Russian government is doing.
Martin said that she supports Wahl and was worried about being fired from her own job: “I knew going into that that I could put my job on the line, considering how the corporate media has fired multiple anchors for simply speaking out against the Iraq War.”
Martin also reiterated that Russia Today’s editors don’t interfere with the editorial content of “Breaking The Set,” the show that Martin hosts.
“They give me the complete editorial freedom to do whatever I want on my show, Breaking The Set, and all I really can speak about is my show.” she explains.
