Terrorism has not been ruled out after it has emerged that two of the passengers on the missing Malaysian Airlines jet were traveling on stolen passports. Two passengers originally on the manifest have made contact with the authorities to say they are safe and well.

An Austrian and an Italian both reported having passports stolen, one two years ago and the other at some point during the last 18 months, reports vary as to exactly how long ago the passport was stolen from a rental car. Both passports were stolen in Thailand.

Other questions are starting to be asked, like why no distress call was made. The 777-200 would have been at cruising altitude and experts say that even if all engines had failed there would have been ample time to send a mayday call. The fact that there was no call could indicate that there wasn’t time to put in a call before whatever happened to flight MH370 occurred.

I have spoken to a businessman who flies in and out of Kuala Lumpur several times a year, he said the security at the airport is very tight.

” Your passport is checked at least three times before you get anywhere near a plane, and again before boarding, They scrutinize your passport very closely coming in and going out. I am surprised anyone managed to travel on a stolen passport, it must have been very expertly altered. The only place I have been where everything is looked at in more detail is Dubai…that place is a waking nightmare.”

Oil slicks have been spotted off the coast of Vietnam, and search and rescue teams are surveying the area looking for any form of wreckage that might offer some explanation of what happened to the flight.
