2009 Ft. Hood Shooting Victim: Repeal On-Base Firearms Ban
Wednesday's shooting at Fort Hood, Texas, has revived calls to eliminate the ban on servicemen and women carrying firearms on U.S. military bases.
Ret. Staff Sgt. Alonzo Lunsford, who was shot seven times by Nidal Hasan in a 2009 attack at the same military base, supports eliminating that restriction
“I support that 100 percent. I do,” Lunsford told “The Steve Malzberg Show” on Newsmax TV.
Lunsford said that with terrorists ready to strike on home soil, soldiers need to be ready to strike back. He also said there is simply a deterrent factor to a potential attacker that comes with knowing the would-be victims are armed. Lunsford still thinks he would have been shot by Hisan if the firearms ban weren't in place, but he or someone else may have had the opportunity to fire back and end the bloodshed sooner.

I could not agree more with the now Ret. Sergeant. I remember the very day it was announced aboard the installation I was serving at at that time, I knew this was going to cost lives, and for what, make a politician feel good about their brave decision, because maybe, just maybe, someone had the sense to cash in their dumbass chips, there is always going to be one who disagrees with another over issues such as this. Damn shame those who are trained entirely for the purpose of saving lives are dis-armed with on active duty. The question is, who should be named “co-conspirator” in all of these killings. I have long thought this policy was going to do un-repairable harm to the armed forces personnel, time was tested, and that fact has proven correct. A gun free zone in a place where guns are as normal as a pen in the hand. I pray for those who lost their lives because of a grandstanding politician, damned fools and who ever it was who penned this into law should be made to suffer like those left behind after the latest shooting.
GOD daily I hate these so called politicians even more and more as we loose many of those who trained to protect this Republic from their curses of stupidity.
Semper Fi brothers and sisters, may you rest in peace. Let GOD deal with the idiots that got you killed for their ignorance, grandstanding or arrogance.
