(Before It's News)

Max Clifford was found guilty yesterday of eight counts of indecent assault on teenage girls over a period of nearly 20 years.

The 71-year-old PR guru is the first person convicted under the high-profile Operation Yewtree sex-crime investigation.

He was cleared of two charges and the jury at Southwark Crown Court was unable to reach a verdict on one other.

Clifford repeatedly denied the claims, calling his arrest and prosecution “a nightmare” and protesting his innocence.

He was arrested by Yewtree detectives in December 2012 and charged last April.

The court heard from a string of women who testified about Clifford’s behaviour, romping naked in his New Bond Street office, which he treated as his “sexual fiefdom.”

He was granted conditional bail and will be sentenced on Friday. In response to questions outside court, Clifford said: “I’ve been told by my lawyers to say nothing at all.”
