A baseball bat known as as “Black Betsy” was 32 inches in length, weighing 48 ounces, made of hickory used from 1908 to 1920 by former Major Leaguer “Shoeless” Joe Jackson. It was auctioned on eBay in 2001 for $577,610 which makes it to be the world’s most valuable bat, old by his nephew.
In 1920, Jackson and seven other Chicago White Sox players were suspended from professional baseball after they were alleged to have thrown the 1919 World Series in what came to be known as the “Black Sox” scandal (despite a court later acquitting him of any involvement in the affair), it ended his career. “Black Betsy” was the only bat he never discarded.
Let’s get the stats first; there are only 399 Enzo Ferrari supercars on earth. So when one showed up on eBay in 2004, it was clocked for over $1,000,000. The price tag had set a
record for being the most expensive item to be ever sold in Europe in an online auction site. The winning bidder was apparently someone from Switzerland, who won the bid by
just $55.
In Dubai, where being in debt is considered illegal, police recently confiscated an Enzo that formerly belonged to a British citizen who had left the car behind after fleeing the country. Cops seized the vehicle after it had out in the sun for nearly 20 months and collected roughly around $27,000 in an unpaid traffic tickets. The Dubai police plans to auction the car, which is currently valued at $1.6 million.
In 2004, Mike Landa listed a McDonnell Douglas F/A-18A Hornet, a supersonic combat aircraft, with a starting price of a little over one million of US dollars. This may sound like a steep asking price but when compared to the $29 million the government would have paid for it when it was new, it seems like a good bargain. The fighter jet was sold disassembled so that it could be shipped to the highest bidder. However, Landa was not only selling the jet and for an extra $9 million he was willing to throw in some extras including the bomb racks.
If you found yourself with $1.2 million that you have to spend on eBay in one day, what would your top choice be? A private yacht or anpersonal jet perhaps? Neither of these options appealed to Brian Seigel, who in 2000 chose to cough over a million dollars on a T206 Honus Wagner baseball card. Just for your information,Honus Wagner is one of the alltime great players in baseball.
The card, featuring Pittsburg player Honus Wagner, dates from 1909, and not only is it very rare, only 200 have ever been ever distributed to the public (packaged with American Tobacco Company cigarettes), and today only 57 copies existswhereas this card in particular was owned by LA Kings owner Bruce McNall and Canadian ice hockey.
You got that right; this whole town of Bridgeville was sold on eBay in 2002. I am not really sure how were the rules at that time and how did this deal work out , but it’s true the town Bridgeville, California was the first town to be sold and during the time it had about 30 residents with 83 acres with 8 houses, a café and a post office. Unfortunately, Bridgeville even though it had spectacular views didn’t turn out to be a very good investment. It was sold again in 2006, but for just $1.25 million.

“Top 10 most” doesn’t make sense. You already have “most” in there, which means “the ultimate.” It’s just the 10 most expensive things. Take the 10 out and try it: “The top most expensive…” No.
