The rich people buy it to experience the priceless joy of sailing and spending several days in the ocean with the comfort of their own home. A yacht, like one of these, is symbolic because it represents power and wealth.

Every yacht is designed in a unique way. The most expensive yachts are constructed for the extremely rich and famous. The price of the yacht owned by a person defines how wealthy they are. 10. The Rising Sun – $200 Million

This yacht was once owned by Larry Ellison, the CEO of Oracle. Its currently owned by American business magnate, David Geffen, who is one three founders of DreamWorks SKG. This yacht is often referred to as the floating mansion. It is, of course, fully furnished with more amenities than you and I can ever dream of. It has a basketball court that doubles as a helicopter pad for those middle of the ocean peanut M&M runs. It also has five floors, 82 rooms, ad four propellers that allow it to cruise the seven seas at the speed of 33 MPH.

Steven Spielberg’s luxury yacht was built by the Dutch shipyard company Oceano. It was specially built to the famous Hollywood director’s specifications and tastes. It boasts an infinity pool with a 15-ft. glass wall that could also be used as a movie screen, so that Spielberg and his guests can enjoy a movie while taking a dip. Offering luxurious accommodation for 12 guests and a crew of 26, the Seven Seas yacht has a private owner’s deck on a large master stateroom with a study and private deck area with a Jacuzzi.

Spielberg is a world famous director, screenwriter and producer whose net worth totals $3.1 billion and annual salary is $150 million. His name is synonymous with academy award winning films and a career that spans over 4 decades. He had humble beginnings, being a boy with a huge imagination and a dream. As a teenager, a young Spielberg would create 8mm short films. Even back then, he had the gall to charge 25 cents for the local kids to come and watch his many epic films.

8. Lady Moura – $210 Million

Nasser Al-Rashid, a Saudi multi-billionaire, is the lucky owner of this luxury yacht. The name of the yacht is applied to the ship in 24-karat gold. Very few know about this yacht and its details; however, it was the eighth largest private yacht upon launch in 1990.

If your wondering who Al-Rashid is – he is an influential advisor to the Saudi royal family. However, he is not on the Forbes list of the world’s richest people. Like many other Saudi insiders, his personal wealth cannot be assessed with much accuracy from publicly available information.

7. Al Mirqab – $250 Million

The Prime Minister of Qatar, Hamad bin Jassim bin Jaber Al Thani is the lucky owner of this luxury yacht. It was built by Peters Schiffbau Wewelsfleth and designed by Tim Heywood. The yacht sports 10 suites, which can hold a maximum of 24 guests. There are two VIP rooms that are mostly used by the PM himself. Al Mirqab also has its own movie theatre, sun deck, pool, and helipad.

Alisher Usmanov, a wealthy and well-known Russian entrepreneur is the lucky owner of this luxury yacht, built in 2008 and designed by Tim Heywood. Usmanov named it after his mother. The Dilbar can host 20 guests and a crew of 47.

Usmanov is a Russian oligarch with a fortune estimated at USD 18 billion, making him one of Russia’s richest men and the world’s 34th richest person. Usmanov is married and is a graduate of Moscow State Institute of International Relations. His wealth comes from mining and investments. He is the majority shareholder of Metalloinvest, a leading global iron ore and HBI producer and supplier. He is also a co-owner of UTH Russia, one of the Russia’s fastest growing commercial television broadcasters. His channels include the Disney Channel, U channel and MUZ-TV channel.
