(Before It's News)

This undated photo provided by the Kentucky Department of Corrections shows James Kenneth Embry, who died Jan. 13, 2014, after a four-month hunger strike that took 32 pounds off his 6-foot frame in the last month of his life.

Sources from Kentucky say an inmate has died in prison from starvation. Authorities have fired a prison doctor, along with several staffers.

Another drug sentence gone wrong: the inmate, 57 year old James Kenneth Embry, had just  just three years left on a nine-year sentence for drug offenses.  Soures say his mental state deteriorated after he stopped taking anti-anxiety medication. He lost as much as 30 percent of his body weight.
