Around 20,000 protesters torched factories in response to China ramming their vessel and planting oil rig

HANOI, Vietnam (AP) — Rioters torched and looted about 10 factories during anti-China protests in southern Vietnam in the most serious outbreak of public disorder in the tightly controlled country in years, an industrial park management official said Wednesday.

The unrest late Tuesday at a Singapore-run industrial park followed large anti-China protests by workers at the park and nearby areas.

It shows the danger for authorities in Vietnam as they seek to handle public anger over China's deployment of an oil rig on May 1 in South China Sea waters that Hanoi claims as its own …. http://news.yahoo.com
