Medford, Oregon, May 12, 2014 — Colleen Roberts, candidate for Jackson County Commissioner, has formally pledged to support a resolution against the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA). NDAA provisions violate multiple Bill of Rights Amendments. It authorizes the Executive Branch to conduct warrantless abductions and disappearances of US citizens on US soil, without due process, trial, right to confrontation of accusers and witnesses, and even the blocking of family members from disclosing the abduction.
“The majority of Jackson County voters seek a Commissioner that believes strongly in Constitutional rights, limited government and transparency,” noted Eric Dubin, vice-chair of Citizens For Transparent Government (CFTG). “Colleen Roberts’ candidacy best matches these objectives. Her position on the NDAA is an example of leadership sorely needed in Jackson County.”
CFTG formerly endorses Colleen Roberts for the May 20th election. Colleen Roberts embodies common sense perspectives in keeping with average, hard working Jackson County residents and families. Too often, Commissioners seek office to become “professional politicians,” with public service a secondary consideration. CFTG believes Colleen Roberts is motivated primarily by a genuine interest to serve the public interest above all else, and she has policy focus and priorities appropriate for Jackson County.
