Brazil is spending $856 million and the presence of 157,000 police and troops — on a ballgame.

 

President Dilma Rousseff has plans to rush through legislation to crack down on any violent protests.

 

Brazilian police were criticized last year for brutality against the demonstrators.

 

Defense Minister Celso Amorim said if troops have to use weapons, they will first use non-lethal weapons.

 

Editor’s Note: I’m assuming bullets would come next?

 

The police plan to go on strike during the world cup.
