Gallup Poll: Lack of commitment to US on illegal invasion plunges Obama to 31%

A  newly released Gallup Poll shows two in three Americans (65%) disapprove of Barack Obama’s handling of issues related to illegal immigration.

The poll finds his approval rating has plummeted to 31%, one of the lowest readings since 2010, when Gallup began polling on his handling of this unpopular issue. Disapproval of the president’s lack of management of the illegal invasion has climbed 10 points since August 2013, when more than half of Americans (55%) disapproved.

Despite protestations to the contrary by amnesty advocates, former House Majority Leader Eric Cantor felt the sting of amnesty blowback when he lost his Virginia Congressional seat. Victor Davis Hanson writing for National Review’s The Corner gives an incisive post-mortem opining, “Cantor’s luck ran out when his long insistence of pushing immigration-reform legislation finally coincided with a massive and sudden rush of thousands to the U.S. border from Central America. That lining up of the planets explains why a good but obscure candidate beat a supposedly invincible insider.”

In January we noted that even the amnesty-supporting AZ Republic admitted that Jeff Flake, McCain’s protégé, was losing support over this issue.

The Daily Caller reported that Arizona Sens. John McCain and Jeff Flake, who worked diligently with Democrats in an effort to pass an amnesty bill, have managed to sink their poll ratings to record lows. In fact, the duo was reported to be in a head-to-head race for capturing the least popular U.S. Senator prize. Though McCain dipped to a 30 percent approval rating from Arizona voters, Jeff Flake managed to reach even further down to 27 percent approval.

The complete article, including a link to the embarrassing poll, can be read here. Today’s fact-filled linked reviews are definitely worth your time and provide answers to those who falsely claim amnesty —– or whatever name they choose to call it on any particular day —-  is not a defining issue. For an increasing number of Americans, it has moved to the forefront of their ballot considerations.
