Has dabbing gone completely mainstream?
Some eagle-eyed internet user spotted Titanium Nails being sold on Sears.com - check it out:
Apart from garnering a good laugh and not at all being photoshopped, looking deeper into these product listings on Sears web store we find that these titanium nails sold by Everyone Smokes and Variety Corp are actually being listed through the Sears Marketplace.
In order to compete with Amazon in the arena of third party e-commerce sales, Sears rolled out its Marketplace in 2009 as a “Fulfilled-by-Merchant” program. Like Amazon, Sears allows third-party sellers to sell their products through their website – Sears grabs commission from sales. However, this means that even though you entered your credit card information through Sears.com it is possible you did not actually order anything from Sears.
It appears these various titanium nails, added to the site about a month ago, are sitting in the “Tools” section of the Marketplace. Seemingly, some savvy retailer has been able to take advantage of a lack of moderation the Sears Marketplace. With the titanium nails being sold at such a low price point, it is a major indication that they are being sourced from China. These adjustable and domeless titanium nails are sitting alongside titanium nuts, bolts, screws, and more the line of items you would think to find at Sears.
If there is a lesson to be had, just like when making purchases on Amazon it is best practice to check who the product is truly sold by.
Just to be sure, we most likely won’t start seeing Highly Educated DualiTis and InfiniTis up on Walmart.com, Target.com, or any other big box retailer. So to answer the initial question, no, not yet
