An agreement was reached on Tuesday which is likely to affect the lives of our children and grandchildren, and could shape the future of this country. Yet it was scarcely reported by the BBC, and entirely ignored by several newspapers.

It was confirmed at the start of a visit here by China’s premier, Li Keqiang, that his country will be allowed to design, own and operate a new generation of nuclear power stations in Britain, subject to unspecified safeguards.

That’s right — an authoritarian regime that imprisons thousands of its citizens without trial, and imposes draconian censorship, will supply much of our power, and have inside knowledge of how our infrastructure works, in particular the national grid …. http://www.dailymail.co.uk
