U.S.Military and the Taliban Shake Hands As Bergdahl Is Handed Over

The helicopter that picked up Bergdahl was on the ground for just 57 seconds. The handover, on a patch of scrubland with hills in the background saw U.S. troops shake hands with two of the men who arrived with Bergdahl.

Waving an improvised white flag there was no pre-amble as the American soldier was ushered towards the waiting helicopter. He was frisked before making the final approach to the aircraft which took off the instant the team members were back on board.
