According to the UK Guardian, US forces fired depleted uranium (DU) weapons at civilian areas and troops in Iraq in 2003. US jets and tanks fired nearly 10,000 DU rounds in Iraq during the war in 2003. Many of the rounds were fired in or near populated areas of Iraq.

DU weapons should only be used against hard targets like tanks and armored vehicles.

PAX estimates that there are more than 300 sites in Iraq contaminated by DU.

More than 1,000,000 DU rounds are estimated to have been fired in Iraq since 1991.

The US Department of Defence did not respond to a request to comment.

As for maintaining freedom and liberty in this world, we must let the people do it, not banks, not the military industrial complex, and especially the unelected politicians and technocrats who control the chess board
