On Saturday, April 24, 2010, over twenty people convened at the medical offices of Dr. John Matriciano in Thousand Oaks, California, for an unusual surgical procedure— the removal of an alleged alien implant from the arm of Ron Noel. Mr. Noel, a Tennessee man who had an abduction experience with two friends—all then around the ages of ten or eleven—in Orlando, Florida, sometime in 1972. The Thousand Oaks event was a joint effort of many organizations, scientists, psychologists, UFO investigators, witnesses, and media people, including Open Minds, which brought a high power microscope and other scientific equipment.
This was the fifth alien implant removal performed by Dr. Matriciano, who works closely with Dr. Roger Leir, the well-known California podiatrist who has specialized in the study of alien implants, writing books and appearing on many television shows.
The media contingent included cameramen and reporters from the American Hispanic network Telemundo, which footed most of the bill for the surgery, and famous UFO television host Jaime Maussan and his assistants from Tercer Milenio in Mexico. Open Minds television producer Tom Ruffin set up the video feed from the operation room so that all of the guests, including famed abduction author and novelist Whitley Strieber,Could watch the surgery live from the operation room.
The hypnotic regression sessions with both Mr. Noel and a second witness, Don Jambard, were conducted by Dr. Yvonne Smith, a well known and experienced licensed therapist who works with abductees in Southern California.
The Ron Noel abduction case is an interesting one because it involves three witnesses and alleged military involvement in that Ron and his two buddies clearly remember a military helicopter landing on the field where the incident took place.
Until now, this case has not been publicized in abduction literature. Ron visited Open Minds’s editorial offices a few weeks before the surgical procedure, where we had the opportunity of interviewing him at length.
“Me and two other buddies of mine were camping out,” said Noel, “it was an empty field that has once been an orange grove; we were kids out having fun. My friend Marc Bolejack seems to recall that there was a spaceship that came over, I cannot remember being abducted, But he says that he and I were. Marc seems to recall that we were taken onto the ship and bright lights were pointed at us and that we were unable to see the aliens.” We spoke with Marc on the phone, and he confirmed the sighting. “Oh lord, that thing was humungous; the last thing I remember was like stainless steel,” he said, “I still have nightmares over those lights.” All that Ron recalls consciously is that the fire had run out and he went to his house nearby to fetch a can of gas. “That was a mistake but we were kids, we were only ten or eleven years old,” said Ron, “and I dumped the gas on the embers, and the flame crawled all over the can, and I threw the can and that’s all I can remember after that.” On the day after the abduction, a green military helicopter landed on the same field. The three kids, and their sisters, ran to see the chopper, and they were offered drinks and peanut butter and jelly sandwiches by the soldiers. “We just thought it was the greatest thing,” said Noel, “I don’t recall if they were armed or had instruments, but it was exciting.” Decades passed without mention of the abduction.
Then, a few years ago, Ron had some X-rays taken for surgery on his hand because of carpel tunnel syndrome.
“The X-ray technician asked me if I had any metal pins” because there was a “little piece of metal lodged into the bone of my left arm.” Ron never had surgery or any medical procedure in his arm. Later that same day, Whether by synchronicity or coincidence, Ron watched a television show about alien implants featuring Dr. Leir. He contacted Leir, setting in motion a series of events that finally resulted in the implant’s surgical removal by Dr. Matriciano.
There is an eerie feeling when you see a live important removal, considering that implants constitute physical evidence—proof if you will—that can validate the alien abduction experience.
When Dr. Matriciano finally got the implant out—the whole procedure took only a few minutes—it was taken immediately to Open Minds’s high power metallurgical microscope, an Olympus GX71, for just a preliminary viewing, as the removed implant was totally surrounded by tissue.
We don’t yet have the results of the analysis of Noel’s implant as we go to print (Dr.
Leir is in charge of arranging the scientific analysis). Based on other cases, it is generally assumed that they are some kind of tracking device inserted during an abduction so the subject can be monitored by the aliens. But at the very least, Ron is relieved.
“It was unbeknownst to me that it [implant] was there,” said Noel, “and I feel invaded, I want it gone, feels like someone is watching me somewhere.” So the implant phase is over as far as Ron is concerned, but the investigation of the case is just beginning. Both he and fellow abductee Don Jambard (Marc Bolejack couldn’t attend the event) have a strong memory block regarding the events following the moment with the camp fire and the can of gas. Dr. Yvonne Smith is working with them to attempt to unblock their recollections.
Argentina’s President Urged to Release UFO Data
Taking advantage of Argentinean President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner’s May 13, 2010 visit to Victoria, a city in the province of Entre Ríos, prominent Argentinean ufologist Silvia Pérez Simondini handed the president’s chief of security and protocol an envelope with a ten-page report about UFOs from CEFORA (Spanish acronym for Commission for the Study of the UFO Phenomenon in the Argentinean Republic).
Pérez, who is the director of the Victoria-based Visión OVNI (UFO Vision) group and museum, had the opportunity of talking briefly with President Fernández during the ceremonies commemorating the bicentennial of Argentina’s independence.
Forty-eight hours later, Pérez received a call from the Casa Rosada (the presidential offices) acknowledging receipt of the CEFORA document and promising a quick response.
CEFORA is an umbrella organization of various Argentinean UFO groups and researchers, specifically created to lobby for the declassification of official UFO files in Argentina. CEFORA is also working on a campaign to collect one hundred thousand signatures petitioning UFO declassification to be presented to the Argentinean congress.
Andrea Pérez Simondini, Silvia’s daughter who is also a prominent ufologist and chemist who has documented dozens of cattle mutilation cases in Argentina, cautioned that the successful delivery of the CEFORA documents to President Fernández “may have extraordinary results or may end up in nothing.” CEFORA is clearly following the Brazilian model created a few years ago in a “Freedom of Information” public campaign that yielded significant results when the Brazilian Air Force instituted an official policy to declassify its voluminous UFO files, which is still ongoing.
President Fernández’s political biography has been compared to that of Hillary Clinton. Her husband, Néstor Kirchner, was the former president of Argentina, and she was a powerful senator from Buenos Aires province when she won the presidential election in a landslide in October 2007. Whether President Fernández will implement pro-UFO policies remains to be seen, but there is no doubt that Argentina’s military has in its possession UFO-related documents and probably some physical evidence. The Argentinean Navy created as far back as 1962 a “Permanent Commission for Studies of the UFO Phenomenon,” which lasted for several years. As a result of a series of spectacular sightings over Argentinean, Chilean and British meteorological bases in Deception Island, Antarctica, in 1965, the commission’s director, Captain Engineer Omar Pagani, stated, “Unidentified flying objects do exist. Their Presence and intelligent displacement in the Argentine airspace has been proven.
Their nature and origin is unknown and no judgment is made about them.”
In the late 1960s it was the Argentinean Air Force (AAF), through a small office out of their CNIE (Spanish acronym for National Commission for Space Research) that undertook the official study of UFOs. The AAF Commanderin- Chief, Brigadier Adolfo Alvarez, revealed in a radio interview (subsequently published in the newspaper La Razón) that “the Air Force has a specialized agency that has conducted investigations about this field for some time.” This agency was led for many years by AAF Captain Augusto Lima, who generally kept a tight-lip operation, although a few investigations were reported in the press. It appears that the CNIE has more than just documents in its possession since The Argentinean press reported at least two cases—one in General Ocampo, Argentina, on December 21, 1978, and the other in the Andean province of Rio Negro on October 3, 1980—in which metallic debris following a UFO sighting was retrieved by Captain Lima. Argentina’s neighboring countries of Chile and Uruguay already have official UFO agencies. And, Brazil continues to release some of its own UFO files, so Buenos Aires seems to be behind the curve. Perhaps President Fernández will do something about it.
Former Canadian Minister of National Defence Speaks Out Against Hawking
“Some UFOs are as real as the airplanes that fly over your head.” Among his numerous statements regarding UFOs, this is the most typical sentiment of Canada’s former Minister of National Defence, Paul Hellyer. A political figure of international stature, eighty-six-year-old Hellyer was recently interviewed by the Italian-American UFO writer and photojournalist Paola Harris, in Toronto, Canada, on May 7,2010. The occasion for the interview was to discuss the release of Paul Hellyer’s new book, Light at the End of the Tunnel: A Survival Plan for the Human Species.
During the interview, Hellyer made some strong comments regarding recent statements by Professor Stephen Hawking, who has suggested that an eventual encounter with aliens could drive humanity towards total annihilation. Hawking theorized that because aliens could have malevolent intentions, they may aim to conquer and destroy other planets. Paul Hellyer is not only convinced that extraterrestrial beings have peacefully visited Earth since remote times, but also that humankind has achieved great technological advances through reverse-engineering activities and knowledge derived from recovered alien technology, beginning with the 1947 Roswell UFO crash. Hellyer raised his voice against Hawking’s warning of a possible extraterrestrial threat, accusing the eminent scientist of spreading disinformation, “I think he’s indulging in some pretty scary talk there that I would have hoped would not come from someone with such an established stature.”
Larry King on UFOs
On April 30, 2010, Larry King tackled the UFO/extraterrestrial issue again with a panel of scientists and actor, Dan Aykroyd. The show’s main focus was to address Stephen Hawking’s comments included in his new documentary, Into the Universe, regarding the possible hostile nature of extraterrestrials. The show started off with Larry King interviewing Hawking via video, and then moved on to debate and discussion with the other panel members, including theoretical physicist Michio Kaku, astronomer and author David Brin, Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence (SETI) astronomer Seth Shostak, and Dan Aykroyd.
While the scientists discussed theories about the possible nature of extraterrestrial Civilizations, Aykroyd served as the champion for the hypothesis that UFOs are possible extraterrestrial visitors, although he said his interest in the field was mostly for entertainment. Towards the end of the show, Dr. Kaku expressed his belief that although most UFO sightings can be explained, the incidences that are unexplainable should be investigated.
Larry King has featured UFOs on his program several times, including an episode with the retired military witnesses from the Rendlesham.
Forest case, in which several officers investigated UFOs up close and personal at a U.S. Air Force base in the UK. At least one of the guests on that show confirmed that King has a very serious interest in this subject.
Russian Politician Reveals He Was Abducted by Aliens
Exopolitics (literally, politics out of this world) has become a buzz word among some ufologists in the U.S., Europe, and Latin America.
But in Russia’s rough-andtumble political world, the subject of alien abductions erupted without assistance from lobbyists calling for UFO disclosure. The international media reported widely in May 2010 that Andrei Lebedev, a deputy of the State Duma (the lower house of the Russian parliament) from the nationalist Liberal Democratic Party of Russia, wrote a letter to Russian President Dmitry Medvedev in reaction to a disclosure by Kirsan Ilyumzhinov, head of the Buddhist Kalmykia region in southern Russia, that he met aliens in Moscow. “I ask you to say if the head of Kalmykia has made an official report to the Russian presidency about his contacts with representatives of an alien civilization,” Lebedev wrote to Medvedev, adding, “Is there an established procedure of informing about such contacts by high ranking people who have access to secret information like Ilyumzhinov?
And did he in the course of his seemingly innocent conversation disclose secret information?”
Kirsan Ilyumzhinov, on the other hand, is not your average politician and Kalmykia is an unusual place—a Russian Federation republic with about three-hundred thousand people in the Caucasus region on the Caspian Sea, the only Buddhist enclave in Europe. A millionaire businessman who was elected president of Kalmykia in 1993, Ilyumzhinov is an eccentric politician whose heroes are Genghis Khan, the Dalai Lama, and Bobby Fischer, the legendary American chess champion. Ilyumzhinov is also a chess master who was elected head of the World Chess Federation in 1995 and has made the small K a l m y k i a n capital of Elista an international center for chess. In a Russian television interview in April 2010, Ilyumzhinov revealed that aliens appeared In a transparent tube on the balcony of an apartment he owns in Moscow on September 17, 1997. “I was reading my book, watching television and had almost fallen asleep,” said Ilyumzhinov.
“Then I felt that someone was calling. I would not have believed it, if I had not had three witnesses—my driver, my minister, and my aide.” Ilyumzhinov provided further details in a previous interview with the British newspaper The Guardian in 2006: “They took me from my apartment and we went aboard their ship. We flew to some kind of star. They put a spacesuit on me, told me many things and showed me around. They wanted to demon- Strate that UFOs do exist.” In another interview with British television, the maverick head of Kalmykia elaborated further on his extraterrestrial contacts: “They are people like us. They have the same mind, the same vision.
I talked with them. I understand that we are not alone in this whole world. We are not unique…after I gave the first interview to Radio Freedom in Russian five years ago, thousands—not hundreds— thousands of people wrote me letters and called me on the phone saying, ‘Kirsan, you are a politician and you aren’t afraid to speak about it.’” And then he linked two of his favorite subjects— chess and UFOs—with the bold statement that “my theory is that chess comes from space.” Exo-politics, Russian style…
Teens Lifted by UFO
Two teenagers in Laconia, New Hampshire claim that their car was picked up by a UFO and dropped, causing damage to the vehicle. The teenagers reported the event to the National UFO Reporting Center that then referred it to the Mutual UFO Network’s New Hampshire state director, Steve Firmani.
According to Robert Marsh at www.examiner.com, the teens told Firmani that they had been in a parking lot when they saw a “weird black object” coming toward them. The car was then lifted up and dropped 180 feet away from their original position. The vehicle hit a curb, causing a divot in the asphalt, broke the windshield, and caused the air bags to deploy.
The car didn’t have any bodily damage, but did incur five-thousand dollars worth of damage to the underside.
Legislator Talks about Eisenhower and UFOs/ETs
Retired New Hampshire state representative, Henry McElroy, Jr. Made some bold claims that were released via a video statement on YouTube on May 11, 2010. He said that as a state representative he served on the State Federal Relations and Veterans Affairs Committee and one of the ongoing topics was related to extraterrestrial visitation. He went so far as to say that he viewed a document meant to brief President Eisenhower on this issue.
McElory stated that “The document I saw was an official brief to President Eisenhower. To the best of my memory this brief was pervaded with a sense of hope, and it informed President Eisenhower of the continued presence of extraterrestrial beings here in the United States of America.”
McElroy went on to say that the briefing seemed to imply that a meeting could be arranged between President Eisenhower and the extraterrestrials, a meeting that McElroy believes did occur.
Larry Bryant, UFO researcher and founder of the website www.theUFOchronicles. com, was able to email McElroy through an intermediary to get some clarifications on McElroy’s statements. In his response, McElroy stood by his original statement, but replied that he was not interested in talking about it further with anyone. According to Bryant, McElroy wrote, “I have nothing more to say on this topic that can’t be gleaned from viewing of the video, the script, and President Eisenhower’s 1961 Farewell Speech.”
NASA Spacecraft Hijacked
Author and paranormal researcher, Hartwig Hausdorf, made headlines in May by suggesting that NASA’s 2010 Voyager 2 space probe had been commandeered by space aliens that are trying to make contact with us.
The Voyager 2 spacecraft was launched in 1977 and was designed to visit our neighboring planets in the solar system; it also holds a message for extraterrestrials.
Onboard the Voyager 2 is a golden record with information chosen by a committee chaired by famous astronomer Dr. Carl Sagan. It contains various natural earth sounds, such as animals, the wind, and ocean waves.
It also has diagrams and a message from President Jimmy Carter, all with the intention of informing extraterrestrial civilizations about Earth and its inhabitants.
In late April 2010, Voyager 2 started having data formatting problems, which led Hausdorf to believe that extraterrestrials may have found the probe and were trying to send us signals. According to the engineers managing the probe at the jet propulsion laboratory, however, the issue has been fixed as of May 23, 2010.
Students Stunned by UFO
University students in the UK celebrating the end of the term spotted twenty-five orange lights coursing across the night sky. The eight students from Napier University in Edinburgh reported the sighting to Highland News.
The sighting took place on May 1, 2010, sometime soon after midnight. They described the lights as equally Spaced and moving “systematic.” They say they were certain that the lights were not Chinese lanterns because, as one of the students described, “At one point, two of them almost collided into each other, but then moved off in separate directions.” According to Highland News, several other readers had reported similar sightings in the last few months, including a Royal Air Force man who told Highland News, “As an RAF man I’m an aviation enthusiast.I know planes when I see them but I have never seen anything like this before.
UFOs are not something I have really thought about but this was definitely unexplained and it was definitely not a Chinese lantern. I couldn’t put my finger on what it was, but it wasn’t an aircraft.”
Large Tube UFO Over New Jersey
A large tube-like object seen over New Jersey caused a flood of calls to be made to the local Somerville police, according to www.NJ.com. The police said the object did not cause any issues other than keeping the dispatchers busy with phone calls. The calls started after a local radio station began fielding calls on the air.At that point, other listeners then saw the object for themselves and called the police.
Police Lt. Donna Young said, “We have no idea what it was but it did not cause any problems here in Somerville.” She continued, “We are under the impression that it might be a weather balloon or something like that, but regardless, it did not cause any problems whatsoever.”
The website www.NJ.com reported that “The Air Traffic Control Tower in Morristown did not have any pilot reports of the object, nor did officials at Solberg Airport in Hunterdon, Somerset Airport in Bedminster and Blairstown Airport in Warren County.”
A picture was taken of the object, but as of yet, it has not been identified.
