One day around noon, there was a knock at our front door. Without looking through the peephole, my girlfriend’s brother went to open the door. All of a sudden, a cop slammed through the door and proceeded to pull my girlfriend’s brother out of the house while assaulting him. At this point, my girlfriend, her cousin, and I pulled out our phones and started recording. Apparently they were there looking for my girlfriend’s oldest brother who was suspected of forging fake prescriptions. However, the police did not have a search warrant and three of them were in my home even though we were telling them to get out and that they needed to present a search warrant in order for them to stay in our home.
They ended up arresting my girlfriend’s brothers, and mother, who did absolutely nothing but get swung by her shoulder down the porch after trying to hold her son who was being arrested for no reason. We ended up bailing all of them out and started building a case on the video in which the police broke many laws and stomped all over our constitutional rights. Weeks later, they raided our house with a search warrant, stating they were looking for the oldest brother who was at this time on the run and we didn’t even know where he was. They tore our house apart for four hours while we sat on the porch handcuffed and they walk in and out laughing at us. They found our phones and started going through our videos and pictures until they found the video we had of them illegally entering our house and assaulting my girlfriend’s mother and brother. They confiscated the phones and still have them to this day, even though we have requested to get them back numerous times.
The house was torn apart, most of the kitchen drawers are still broken to this day, they dumped the trash all over the place, dumped cups of milk onto our bed, and ended up finding a sleeping pill prescribed to me and arrested me for it, stating in the police report that it was a Vicodin when it was a Trazedone. I went to jail and paid the consequences as if it was a narcotic, which it wasn’t. I told the public defender who didn’t have time to deal with my case, and he told me there was nothing we could do and let me take the fall. I have no faith in the justice system and feel the world would be a better place without police all together.
