WASHINGTON – WND has learned the House of Representatives is considering whether to send Lois Lerner to jail for contempt of Congress.
Rep. Steve Stockman, R-Texas, has just submitted a resolution, HR 664, which finds Lerner in contempt of Congress for refusing to testify before a congressional committee.
Lerner, the former head of the IRS tax-exempt division, has admitted the IRS improperly targeted conservative groups seeking 501(c)(3) status.
However, Lerner twice invoked her Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination and refused to testify before the House Oversight Committee.
The resolution only has to pass the House, not the Senate, to go into effect.
And the House is controlled by Republicans, so its passage would seem assured.
If the House passes the resolution and finds Lerner in contempt, she could go to jail, according to a copy of the legislation obtained by WND.
The resolution states that she should be held in contempt because the threat of prosecution has clearly been insufficient to encourage her “to be honest and candid with Congress regarding the heinous actions of the Internal Revenue Service.”

Where are the 5 or 6 that Eric Holder has earned????
This is the end.
The dominoes are falling.
Every day now will see a new one till it’s Obama’s turn is.
Gee! I hope she doen’t have an unfortunate accident before they can arrest her.
Precisely! Don’t stop here Congress, keep the “ball of Justice” rolling until all of them are crushed beneath it!
Jail one, and you must jail them ALL!
First off, like someone isn’t going to pardon her ass…sheesh.
Second, what E Holder deserves is a week out in the bush just outside of Albuquerque and have their police force respond to a call of a homeless dude on public land. One thing is for sure, the APD would make sure he gets his.
I’ll believe it when I see it. Unfortunately, the Republicans and the Democrats have a sweetheart agreement that they will not prosecute the other.
People point to the Nixon impeachment as an example that proves it can be done. Both the Republicans and Democrats united in asking Nixon to step down.
The best explanation I have Heard for the Nixon impeachment is that Nixon, several times in a fit of anger, had said something like “I ought to expose the Kennedy thing!” The powers that be didn’t take kindly to this. Of course, Nixon could not have done this without implicating himself, since he had atended the meeting the night before the assasination and had previous knowledge. Even so, Nixon was a loose cannon and for that reason he was removed from office. The actual charges were just a cover.
