According to Spaceweather.com, this ongoing quiet spell is remarkable – July 17th was the first spotless day in 3 years.

Jupiter went into Leo and the Sun suddenly went quiet on the same day:17 July, 2014. Also on that day there were several devastating calamitous events that were reported worldwide – the “ground invasion” of the Gaza Strip began and a Malaysian commercial jet was shot from the sky over the Ukraine.
