3D printer makes pizza from scratch ~ Video

NASA has awarded Systems & Materials Research Corporation a grant to develop a 3D food printer to enable astronauts to prepare meals from scratch on long space journeys, saving much needed space and weight. The device combines powdered ingredients with water and oil to make dough, sauce and a topping. The ingredients are then heated to produce a pizza pie. 

The designers behind the pizza printer also envision a day where these 3D printing machines are added to kitchens across the globe.
