Violence again surfacing in the border city of Tijuana where in the first seven months of the year there have been 302 crimes, most of them related to disputes between rival groups for control of drug dealing.
The homicide rate could skyrocket even more one takes into account so far this month total there have been 14 murders. The municipal authorities reinforced checkpoints in 40 colonies. The murders and kidnappings continue despite the heavy police presence.
Mayor Jorge Astiazaran Orci said the violence in this border town escalated with the discovery of four dead at the start to the week, including that of a 19-year old reported missing whose remains were located in the sewer, it does however not compare to the crime rate of 2008 when a war between drug cartels was recorded.
