- An open-ended ceasefire announced last night between Israel and Hamas led to celebrations in the streets of Gaza when it went into effect at 7 pm local time this evening, Tuesday.
The ceasefire comes after seven weeks of bombardment in which Israel dropped thousands of bombs on Gaza. The explosive power of the bombs were equal to the U-S atomic bombing of Hiroshima, according to military analysts.
Remarkably, the sky above Gaza filled with birds within minutes of the ceasefire coming into effect.
