Colonization by Bankruptcy: High-Stakes Chess for Argentina

Destitute nations are driven into international bankruptcy courts that could do with whole countries what bankruptcy courts do with businesses: sell off their assets, including real estate. Sovereign territories could be acquired as the spoils of bankruptcy without a single shot being fired.
