Kansas City police officer Marc Catron posted this fake Michael Brown photo on Facebook along with some tasteless comments
Kansas City police officer Marc Catron finds himself in hot water after writing baseless posts on Facebook about deceased Ferguson resident Michael Brown. Catron is now under internal investigation.
Catron posted sarcastically on Facebook, “I’m sure young Michael Brown is innocent and just misunderstood. I’m sure he is a pillar of the Ferguson community”. Beneath the post was a photo of Oregon murder suspect Joda Cain, whom Catron must have thought was Michael Brown. Undoubtedly, if you’re a racist, all black men look alike.
Rather than Michael Brown, the picture actually shows Joda Cain pointing a gun at the camera with a wad of money in his mouth. Cain is accused of killing his great-grandmother with a sledge hammer.
Kansas City resident Sarah Jackson saw the photos and called the police department. Said Jackson, “Right now with all the tension going on in Ferguson… I feel like those pictures were demeaning and judgmental, very one-sided.” Jackson continued, “These are the people that serve and protect us. And more than one wrong doesn’t make a right.” MOREHERE
