Deputy Shoots Attacking Cow

Cows are large, powerful animals. They can easily weigh 800 lbs. If they want to hurt you, they have the means to do so.
The deputy says he got to his feet just as the cow was charging a second time, and was forced to shoot and kill the animal to avoid a second blow from the cow.
The deputy's injuries are not life-threatening.
