Announcement raises concerns that officials are encouraging illegals to support big government
The Environmental Protection Agency is targeting Spanish-only speakers in an upcoming public relations campaign, raising concerns that bureaucrats are already encouraging illegal aliens from Central America – potential future voters – to support big government.
The EPA says “the changing American demographic landscape” motivates it to “work directly with Hispanic communities and organizations to help broaden the idea of environmentalism by welcoming and engaging Latinos,” and to do so the agency is seeking a government contractor that can provide “Hispanic Media and Public Outreach Support” and “English to Spanish Translation Services.”
“The United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Office of Children’s Health Protection is seeking contractor support to develop and implement a strategic Hispanic Media and Public Outreach Action Plan that provides media engagement and Spanish translation services to promote EPA’s environmental health messages and educational efforts within the Hispanic community,” the solicitation states. “The scope of work for this procurement falls under two (2) key areas: A) Hispanic Media and Public Outreach Support; and B) English to Spanish Translation Services.”
Some of the issues the agency wants to push on Spanish-only speakers includes “green cleaning” and “environmental tobacco smoke.”
Considering that the far-left, authoritarian segment of the environmentalist movement “lobbies and controls major policy decisions and lobbies on behalf of the Environmental Protection Agency,” according to a report published yesterday by the U.S. Senate Committee on the Environment and Public Works, the EPA’s solicitation raises concerns that Democrats are already attempting to influence recently arrived illegal aliens – potential future voters – into supporting their agendas.
Illegal aliens are already eight times more likely to identify with Democrats than Republicans and current amnesty proposals would grant them full voting rights.
“The immigration proposal pending in Congress would transform the nation’s political landscape for a generation or more – pumping as many as 11 million new Hispanic voters into the electorate a decade from now in ways that, if current trends hold, would produce an electoral bonanza for Democrats and cripple Republican prospects in many states they now win easily,” Emily Schultheis with Politico reported back in 2013, and current proposals are no different.
This would definitely benefit the EPA, which is always hungry for more power and support from Democrats in Congress.
The EPA has acted without restraint under the Obama administration and has even claimed authority to bypass courts and garnish wages from Americans accused of violating EPA regulations. The agency also threatened to fine a landowner up to $75,000 per day for building a pond on his rural property.
“The EPA has a history of overreaching its authority,” Sen. John Barrasso (R-Wy.) said. “It seems like once again the EPA is trying to take power it doesn’t have away from American citizens.”
And the agency likely sees Democratic-leaning illegal aliens as a pathway to that power.
