Ian Gordon, Alex Merk, Daniel McAdams and Chris Rossini return as guests on this week’s radio program.

As the equity markets look to be topping and gold bottoming, Ian Gordon returned to give us an update on his views that we are on the verge of a deflationary implosion that will make the 1930s look like child’s play. But it may be the best of times for those who own gold and gold shares because if Gordon is right, as the Dow plunges toward his target of 1000, Ian thinks gold will rise to $4,000/oz. If that sounds crazy, don’t dismiss it because Gordon has been spot on with his major forecasts ever since your editor met up with him in the late 1990s.

We also talk with Axel Merk, President and CIO of Merk Investments, to find out what is unique about the Merk Gold Trust (OUNZ). Axel also gives his informed analysis on the debt and currency markets.

Ian Gordon is a globally renowned economic forecaster and author of “The Long Wave Analyst” newsletter. Axel Merk is the President and CIO of Merk Investments, manager of the Merk Funds, which he founded in Switzerland (1994) by pooling the investments he had been managing for his friends starting in college. He then relocated the firm to California in 2001 as a SEC registered investment advisory.

In the 1990s he worked as a journalist based in Budapest, Hungary, including as editorial page editor of the Budapest Sun. He also served as special rapporteur for the British Helsinki Human Rights Group while based in Europe, monitoring human rights and elections on the ground in various contentious states, including Albania during the 1996-1998 civil unrest, Montenegro, Georgia, Armenia, Belarus, Croatia, and Slovakia.
