Risks of doing nothing are too great as terrorists present massive global and US threat
U.S. Rep. Ted Poe, a Texas congressman, former felony prosecutor and judge was a guest on Newmax TV’s America’s Forum Wednesday. Poe, a member of the House Judiciary Committee on Crime, Terrorism and Homeland Security discussed the macabre beheading of American journalist James Foley by ISIS terrorists and the connection between these depraved fanatics and Mexican drug cartels. Watch the interview with host J.D. Hayworth here.
Poe drew a disturbing connection between the Mexican drug cartels invading our Southern border and terrorist organizations such as ISIS, acknowledging the drug cartels use the same operational plan as terrorist groups do.
“They kill their opponents, they behead their opponents, they brag about it and they have operational control of many portions of the southern border of the United States. Mexico doesn’t. The United States doesn’t. Otherwise they wouldn’t be crossing daily with their drugs. They’re as vicious as some of these other terrorist organizations. We need to recognize that this is an organized international crime group that is a threat to the world. We have to deal with them as such,” Rep. Poe said.
In May 2011 we posted Hezbollah on our doorstep: Radical Muslims in border towns, warning of the increasing dangers posed to America and her citizens by terrorists. It includes a news photo showing Hispanic leaders meeting with then-PLO leader Yasser Arafat in Beirut Lebanon in 1980, as an image of the ruthless Sharia dictator Ayatollah Khomeini watches over the meeting.
At the time, ABC 10 News in San Diego filed this alarming televised report detailing that “Hezbolah has operated in South America for decades and then Central America, along with their sometime rival/ sometime ally Hamas. Now, the group is blending into Shi’a Muslim communities throughout Mexico. Other pockets along the U.S.-Mexico border region remain largely unidentified as U.S. intelligence agencies are focused on the drug trade.”
We live in a post-9/11 world. Americans can no longer afford complacency. The federal government (FEMA) has a little advertised website Ready.gov that warns Americans of risk and the need to be prepared in cases of disasters. This page and its links specifically address terrorism.
