SIG’s new site gives you the skinny on each individual part of the weapon platform (Photo:SigEvolution.com)
SIG Sauer Inc, launched a new website this morning, showing all the available configurations and features of their MPX carbine, SIG556xi rifle and P320 handgun. The interactive website takes an uncommon approach to product websites by demonstrating how each weapon is constructed as the user scrolls down the page. What’s even more interesting is how as the viewer scrolls through additional configurations, the website demonstrates how the variations of each weapon are related, and once constructed populates the item with links that highly each feature in further depth.
This news comes just a few months before the projected ship date of the MPX, likely in an effort to satiate hungry buyers, who can’t wait to get their hands on the elusive subgun-influenced carbine/pistol. The site also clarifies the shared components among the five available variations of the MPX weapon system, by highlighting the common parts featured on whichever model is selected. Shooters unsure of which MPX to purchase can easily identify the differences between models and make a more informed choice.
This is especially useful for the P320 model of handguns, whose modular design can be very intimidating for a new shooter. The new site lays out every available option for the P320 in an effort to clarify the possible configurations. Plus, it’s cool to see how each weapon is assembled. Additionally, at the end of each of the subsites dedicated to each weapon is the, “find a dealer” page that directs would-be purchasers to their nearest SIG dealer.
Infact, the only two things the site is missing is a way to purchase an MPX and a solid ship date for it. Though, I’m certain as soon as SIG knows, it’ll be plastered all over the site.
