(Before It's News)

On August 11, 2014, we lost a beloved actor – Robin Williams to suicide and depression. Williams was found hanging from his belt by his assistant. Signs were there for months and no one was able to assist Williams in dealing with his depressive state. The whole story made me realize that Williams is not the only star in Hollywood to contemplate suicide. There were many other celebrities who tried to commit suicide, but failed because they had someone to guide them. And here they are:

10. Eminem

Eminem III was born in Missouri, USA. Son of a 15-year-old mother at the time of his birth and an absent father, Eminem spent his early childhood being shoved back and forth from Kansas City and Detroit. He settled on the Eastside of Detroit when he was 12…Eminem has wanted to kill Eminem a few times over the past decade. On “Say Goodbye to Hollywood” from his 2002 classic album The Eminem Show he said:
It’s like the boy in the bubble who never could adapt/ I’m trapped If I could go back, I never wouldve rapped/ I sold my soul to the Devil I’ll never get it back.

9. Elton John

Sir Elton John is one of pop music’s great stars. Born 25 March, 1947, as Reginald KennethDwight, he started to play the piano when he was four. At the age of 11, he won a scholarship to the Royal Academy of Music. His first band was named the Bluesology. He later auditioned (but did not get in) as lead singer for the progressive rock bands King Crimson and Gentle Giant…When he wrote “Someone’s Final Song,” the singer was coming to grips with his inability to go on living—overwhelmed by his stage persona, and unsure of who he was offstage.

8. Britney Spears

Singer, Soundtrack, Bridesmaids
Born to parents Jamie Spears and Lynne Spears, Britney is their second of three children. Her older brother, Bryan Spears, was born in April 1977 and her younger sister, Jamie Lynn Spears, was born in April 1991. From a young age, Britney was always wanting to walk in the footsteps of her idol Madonna. She did more than that – kissing her idol on stage. Britney’s ex-boyfriend Adnan Ghalib said that the pop star, barred from seeing her sons on Christmas Day, was incapable of speech, gasping for breath and ‘couldn’t stop sobbing.’ According to Ghalib, Spears also expressed the intent of “wanting to end her life” — and her frenzied, traumatic state indicated she was on the brink of doing something as horrific.

7. Clark Gable

Actor, It Happened One Night
William Clark Gable was born on February 1, 1901 in Cadiz, Ohio. Later that year his mother died, and his father sent him to live with his maternal aunt and uncle in Pennsylvania, where he stayed until he was two. His father then returned to take him back to Cadiz. When Clark was 16 he dropped out of school and worked at many odd jobs before joining a traveling theater company…

6. Judy Garland

Soundtrack, The Wizard of Oz
One of the brightest, most tragic movie stars of Hollywood’s Golden Era, Judy Garland was a much-loved character whose warmth and spirit, along with her rich and exuberant voice, kept theatre-goers entertained with an array of delightful musicals. She was born FrancesEthel Gumm on 10 June 1922 in Minnesota…She had attempted to suicide twice before her death in 1969 from an apparent drug overdose.
