We are what we eat. Unfortunately, in the 21st century, people tend to eat a lot of chemicals, food with hormones, and fast food. All of these can cause serious health problems, leading to cancer, and even to death.

People need to pay more attention to what they eat, and to focus more on organic products, and on fruits and vegetable. On the other hand, they should stop consuming all the bad products, over processed food, and especially fast food.

10. Sugar

In the last years, scientists discovered that the sugar is extremely bad for human bodies. Even in small amounts, it can suppress the immune system, leach the minerals out of the body, and cause weight gain. Sugar was named the “white poison”, and it was discovered that it actually works like a drug. It is an anti-nutrient, which cannot be processed by the human body. You need to pay attention, because even if you think you don’t eat sugar, because you don’t add it in your food, you actually consume a lot of sugar. Most of the products on the market contain huge amount of sugar, including the sodas, precooked food, candies and sweets, and so on.

 

9. Artificial sweeteners

You should really avoid artificial sweeteners. The most common one is aspartame, and if you read the labels of the products, you will see it almost in every processed food. Inside the human body, it takes the form of methanol, which is carried into the bones and to the brain. It gets transformed into formaldehyde that can damage the DNA. Usually, animal can break down the methanol into formic acid, but the human body cannot.

 

8. Non-organic produce

Probably you have seen the commercials with the “safest non-organic” product to eat. Well, it is simply funny, because there is no such thing. Just think about all those chemicals that are sprayed over the vegetables you want to eat. The plants absorb them, and when we eat the veggies, all the toxic chemicals get into our body. And we definitely don’t want it, so try to buy at organic shops or farmers’ markets.

 

7. Soy products

Some time ago, the soy was very healthy, but nowadays, it is one of the leading foods that are genetically modified, all around the world. The genetically modified soy (GM) can cause serious problems to the female reproductive system. It is very toxic for the placenta. To avoid it, stop eating protein bars, bottled fruit drinks, instant soups, sauces, and even breakfast cereals. Always read the labels and buy only organic soy products.

 

6. Table salt

The table salt contains 98% salt and 2% dangerous chemicals. Did you know that? In addition to fluoride, it has ferrocyanide and aluminosilicate. The natural salt contains only 84% sodium chloride, while the rest are minerals like vanadium, phosphorus, and silicon. The natural salt is essential for our bodies, but you need to avoid the chemical one. You can always go for Himalayan salt, the black lava salt from Hawaii, or the French salt.

 

5. Microwave popcorn

First, you need to avoid any kind of food that was cooked in the microwave. And second, stay away especially from the microwave popcorn. It is full of chemicals that can affect your endocrine systems. It is also related to infertility, cancerous tumors, thyroid malfunction, and immunological problems. Simply throw away your microwave and you will be safe. You can always cook the popcorn in the old, classic way.
