(Before It's News)

The content below was captured and shared by Michael Hutchison via CopBlock.org/Submit. It details the aggressive attitude and lies from a Des Moines police employee toward Michael because he chose to ask questions, as he rightly values his rights. As Michael notes in the text that intros his video, “I was breaking no law… Nothing I was doing was illegal.”

I did a memorial ruck march on the morning of 9/11/2014 in Des Moines, IA. I carried an American flag and wore a gas mask, weight vest and 45 pound ruck. I was illegally detained by a police officer. He claimed that I was protesting for carrying an American flag.

Editors note: Here’s video of Michael upon reaching his destination:

Editors note: This less-than-professional behavior from Des Moines police employees seems to be the norm. Earlier this year Michael was stopped by Des Moines police employees and was told he could not film the exchange. After Michael noted that it was his right to film such interactions, that was acknowledged but he was told “You don’t have to point it at me.” What do these folks wearing badges have to hide?

In that iteration, those wearing badges demanded to know his ID but could not articulate his supposed crime thus he chose not to ID and eventually, was kidnapped and caged. Michael’s last update about that situation noted,

I have pre-trial conference on the 24th for “interference with official acts”. They will attempt to give me a plea bargain. I will continue to fight this until the charge is dropped, then file a law suit against the county. This is the second time I have been illegally detained in this county.

Clearly, he was targeted because he chose not to comply. Prior to that, in 2011, Michael noted that he was jailed for 10 days for “legally open carrying with a CCW in Polk County before they released me and dropped the charges with only an ‘I’m sorry’.”

There seems to be a pattern of unaccountability by those wearing badges…
