Dr Mads Gilbert talks about his Gaza strip experience

 For weeks now the world has been transfixed by the horror of the Israeli offensive on the Gaza strip. The death toll continues to spiral with more than a thousand Palestinian civilians killed. Since July 7, Israel has pounded the Gaza Strip with fierce aerial bombardments , leaving 1158 people dead and more than 7,000 others injured.
The vast majority of the dead and injured victims are civilians: children, women and elderly people. Gaza-based resistance factions, meanwhile, have continued to fire rocket at Israeli cities in response to relentless Israeli bombardments. Dr Mads Gilbert is an emergency surgeon who has recently returned from the Palestinian Gaza Strip is on a SA speaking tour.
