CBI went silent Fri. night and then resumed on Sunday evening. Announced they are going ahead with the currency change and NOT waiting on anything political. ME banks were re-notified of the coming currency revalue.
Over the weekend, there were ads, banners, announcement on TV preparing Iraqi citizen for currency change. Notices of price changes in the markets.
DC – They had phone calls, emisarry’s reps, from banks saying the same thing, we are NOT waiting on anyone — that’s when they ran the ads, etc… that brings us to today— it is in IRAQs hands. It has been in Iraq’s hands since Aug. 28th. Re-iterated it is CBI’s decision.
Celebrations were NOT held on Sat. This is the 6th time the people have been told to expect the RV and the frustration is building. Tony reiterated this is a dangerous situation as they are “playing with fire.” No one knows where/when the match is. DC – disappointed by so many people for so long, they could snap.
Tony said we know the rate over the weekend went to the teller level. It was not $1.09. Tony later in call: “It was over $3.00″ “It could have been $4.”
Tony wondered with all this going on, CBI, IRAQ saying not holding it up for political reasons but it still does not happen, then what is the reason it does not show.
DC: To be perfectly blunt, we don’t know what we are waiting on. The fact it did not go Sat., just pissed a lot of people off. Diplomats complaining.
Some Congressional Dem’s told DC they “want this now,” delaying it is BS and they “need the RV so bad” because:
Presidents ratings are lowest ever. Even after his speech last week the polls did not budge on his ability to lead/manage. His base, women, young people, latino’s, is eroding alarmingly.
In spite of being told the economy has recovered, many Americans have not gone back to work or have low paying jobs.
Tony’s favorite subject – 3-D printing back in the news. He said they printed a car out that runs at 40 mph with a price tag of $10K. Tony says 3-D printing is the next “golden opportunity.” That you will see FEDEX, UPS, Staples, etc. all with 3-D printers and whole businesses will start up around 3-D printing.
Groups will probably go first because they are organized.
TAXES: DC, “The tax rate is in the docs. . . the tariff thing. . . I don’t know if that will count or if that will pass the IRS.”
Tony’s End of Call Summary: It’s all good, they finalized everything – economic reform done and 2 last ministers. We were expecting it prior to Wed. It should be seen no later than Wednesday and seen in the Gazette by then.
DC: ”If it goes past Wednesday, it’s a major issue.”
