Acknowledging the terrifying reality of home invasions, one of the most life-altering and violent crimes committed today, Today’s Jeff Rossen paid a visit to “expert” 22-year veteran of the NYPD as a detective and hostage negotiator Wallace Zeins for advice on how to repel invaders.

Wasp spray ranks high up on Zeins’ recommendations for home defense that coincidentally have domestic applications around the home and in the garden. Today adds that this might not be legal depending on local laws.

He also argues in favor of complying with invader’s demands, being honest with them and treating them “like royalty.”
