Expanded Consciousness
I’m sure most of you have heard this idea over and over again: the world is a reflection of yourself. (If you haven’t, welcome to the party).
It is a common topic of discussion, especially in and around the consciousness communities. However, I still feel like this idea could be tidied up around the edges a little bit more. Not too much; just a snip here and there to give more definition to its esoteric and abstract appearance.
So, what exactly do we mean when we say that our world is a reflection of ourself? It sounds like an odd concept, doesn’t it? It would appear to imply that everything we experience and perceive (i.e. the world) is somehow relative to who we are.
But hold on, clearly there are such things that exist independent of us, right? There are situations, objects, living things, and places that exist and have nothing to do with me, like my cars, my friends and my daily experiences. None of those rely on little old me…
