 The services for which the states originally contracted the federal government company to provide.

1. Pay debts
2. Sign treaties
3. Borrow money
4. Regulate commerce With foreign nations by collecting tariffs
5. and between the states by allowing it without heavy tariffs
6. Establish rules of naturalization and bankruptcies
7. Punish counterfeiters
8. Establish post office and post roads
9. Establish patents
10. Establish courts below the Supreme Court
11. Declare war
12. Establish a military and provide for our defense
