With the Dow still trading above 17,000 and the U.S. Dollar Index holding near 85, today James Turk sent King World News two shocking charts that expose the stunning collapse which has taken place in the United States. Turk also discussed how a bankrupt company fits into the puzzle and what is happening with gold and silver.
Turk: “There are news reports today that the Indiana Toll-Road Co. is filing for bankruptcy. It operates the motorway that runs across northern Indiana, between Illinois and Ohio, that is part of the U.S. Interstate Highway System. At first glance this news may seem not worth mentioning, but some important observations need to be drawn. The professed reason for the bankruptcy is the company’s debt, but there is more to this story….
That is funny, less than 10 years ago, they were the company to be. They had the answers. They had the plan. Most importantly, they were going to improve roads and charge no more than the state did before, to do it. You were considered a troll and a fool to naysay it, or vote-it-down when it came to ballot.
They can say what they want to about ‘why it failed’ or ‘why it went insolvent’, but the real truth is far more obvious. In the end, with a toll road (as with any capital venture), you need customers to make profits. Their beloved liberal government might have looked good 6-years ago, but they failed to take into account the fact that no jobs means no workers, and no workers means no commuters. They died a retailer’s death, and never even saw the killing blow.
It doesn’t take an MBA to see this killer. It’s called Socialism, plain-and-simple. I hear Climate Change is making a return now too. This should be off-the-wall fun.
