An S.C. trooper who stopped a man for a seat belt violation outside Columbia and then shot him – apparently without provocation – was arrested Wednesday and charged with assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature.
Law enforcement hiring standards must of course require a minimum IQ but there is also a ceiling requirement and going by so many poorly handled situations and tragedies I would say, remove the ceiling. Scared and stupid are a bad combination.
